Today I thought I'd talk about priorities. We all have them but how often do we live them? A good thing to think about. What's really important to you in your life? What do you value highly? Your children? Your significant other? Your career? Your education?
Let's use our imaginations for a minute and think about our funerals. Yes, a little morbid for a Monday morning but indulge me. Have you ever taken a few minutes to sit and think: what would I like people to say about me at my funeral? It's something that I've thought about and I think the biggest thing for me would be "she loved well". I want to love people around me; I want them to
know that they are loved and valued. I want them to know that they are important - not just to me but here, in this world.
I want to be remembered for being there for people when they are in a hard place. At the end of my life, people are not going to care about how many degrees I have hanging on my walls or how much money I have in the bank but about how I affected their lives and somehow made their lives just a little better.
That's my hope. What's yours? Take a few minutes today and think about what you would like people to say about you and then start putting it into action. Just a little change in habit or thought and the wheels will start rolling. Don't wait until you are actually at your own funeral - by then it's too late. Be the person that you want to be starting today. Small changes lead to a big life!
