This morning I want to talk to you about my 'tea theory'. I am an avid tea drinker. I love tea! I love all kinds of tea. I like herb teas, black teas, chai teas and even enjoy teas that I can't pronounce from other countries. I'm presently enjoying a tea that I got from a wonderful Vietnemese couple - the tea came straight from Vietnam and is served to royalty there. So yes, I'm enjoying that tea and sipping like a queen!
But onto my theory. When I was a kid (yes, many moons ago!), I remember that the tea bags were fatter because they were meant for a full pot of tea. Back then, you would make a pot of tea and sit and enjoy it with several people. Today, the tea bags are thin and are made for individual cups of tea. While this is convenient, it's kind of sad too. Our society, as a whole, has gotten very busy and few take time to sit down and brew a full pot of tea in order to share it with several others. This makes me sad.
What's my point? Let's take time to visit with friends and family. And not just texting them or emailing them. Let's have a good old-fashioned face to face. There's nothing that can take the place of being in the same room with the person, being able to look them in the eye, being able to put your hand on their arm or shoulder if they're going through something difficult or high-fiving them if they're celebrating something.
So, pick up the phone, make a tea date and get out that pot (and several of those skinny tea bags). It's time to get up close and personal!! Enjoy!
