My title today is "Carpe Diem?" - so why the question mark? I'm glad you asked. With your permission, I want to make up my own little quote - "Carpe the Moment". Yes, not quite the latin scholar. However, here's my deal. Instead of seizing the day, I think that most of us need to work on living in the moment. I talk to so many people who are either living in the past (the good old days) or living in the future (when.... then I will....).
Let's be conscious of moving through our days - not just to get through them or survive them but let's experience them. Enjoy your food at breakfast - take the time to have something that you really enjoy and savor the flavors. When you take that first step out of the door today, look around you. Really see the trees and take a good deep breath of that fresh air. How about your walk to the bus stop? Put the phone in your pocket and look around and take in your surroundings.
Life is sweet if we will take the time to appreciate the small things that are around us right now. Take some time today to live in the moment. It's a great way to kick off a Monday. Taste the delights of the 'right now'. Until next week: carpe the moment!
