I was talking to a dear friend today and she was questioning her direction. What's next for me in my life? A question so many of us can relate to.
I think sometimes we are all being setup to believe that we have to be something really great in order to make an impact. While for some - that is their path and their destiny - for many of us it's a quieter life. There is beauty and courage in the mundane if we will take the time to look for it. I think it takes real commitment to get up every morning and go to the same job and do your best. It takes commitment to stay at home with little ones and to minister to their needs constantly. It takes commitment to get your kids ready for daycare/school and have them out the door on time each day. Sometimes it takes courage and commitment just to live your life one day at a time if you struggle with a disability or depression or many other things that can hinder.
I think we need to begin to value who we are and the challenges that each of us face each day. But let's not stop there. Let's open our hands and our hearts to our Father in Heaven and offer up whatever we have and ask Him to bless it. Whether it's the widow's mite or a bag full of gold, we all have something to give.
I bless each of you today, wherever you're at. Know that who you are is valuable and that we all have precious things to give if we take the time to consider. There is beauty in the everyday...
