Good Monday morning! Today when I woke up and prayed about what I should blog about, this verse came to me:
"And I - in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness." - Psalm 17:15
God gave me the address but I didn't know which verse it was until I turned to it. This has been a favorite of mine since I was quite young. When I was younger, I was always very insecure. When I first read this verse (probably in my teens) - this is what God spoke to me about it.
When I first read it, I thought it meant that I will only see His face if I am righteous and I thought that meant that I had to be really good. Then I learned that my righteousness can only come through Christ. That was sweet relief for me because now I knew that I COULD see His face. I can see His face daily in others and in different situations. If I keep Him at the forefront of my day, I see Him everywhere!
The second part of the verse: when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness. God said to me: look in the mirror so I did. He said: look into your eyes and so I did. He said look closer because I am in there too. You are my daughter and so you carry my traits and look like me.
Could it be possible?? God has created each of us in His image. We all carry His likeness. I often feel so unworthy but He says this: Does a child feel unworthy because he or she looks like his or her parent? That is just who they are. It is not because of anything they have done or not done. It just is. So it is for you - you are made in my image - walk boldly and with your head held high knowing that you are Mine and that you look like Me! Look in the mirror and be satisfied and then go out in boldness for you carry My likeness!!
Lord my prayer for all of us today is that we would walk in full confidence of who we are because You are our Father and we all carry something wonderful from You!
